Thanks to all who've helped

Donations and voluntary work mean that many of our plans will now be possible

Dear Members,

Linda HumphriesI want to thank all those who came to our AGM in September; you made our meeting a success. It was a great opportunity for me to be able to speak to many members, listen to their experiences and to let them know just how hard the Trustees are working on their behalf. Those who were kind enough to give a donation to the group deserve a special thank you; every penny given is gratefully received and carefully used to benefit RLS-UK/ESA. There is so much more to do this year, reaching for charitable status, more involvement with The European Alliance of Restless Leg Syndrome, and importantly bringing awareness of RLS to the fore throughout the U.K. Without finance and your Trustees, none of this work would be possible. Your committee members freely give their time, and so much of the work is done behind the scenes, typically just before the AGM, emails and telephone calls were flying back and forth across the country from York, Derby, Suffolk and Kent, completely dominating the weeks prior to the meeting. We have a strong team under the management of our new Chair Person, so keep an eye on our website to see what projects she will put into place. Thankfully many of the plans will now be possible due to the unconditional grant received from UCB; it will enable much more to be done. I have been a member of the committee for some time now but recently I became Treasurer and this new undertaking has given me a clear insight into how vital your donations and membership fees are, so I repeat ‘thank you’ to those who have contributed, for without your financial support we are lost.

Linda J Humphries, Treasurer backer
